Meet Mrs. Day
I graduated from Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township, Michigan after spending my childhood growing up in Michigan, California, and Venezuela (that's in South America!). After high school, I went to Michigan State and joined the College of Education to become a high school English teacher. When I graduated from MSU, I worked for Chrysler for a year in their communication department; during this position, I wrote and edited for their online blog. After a year in the corporate world, I realized how much I missed teaching and that it was the career I was really meant to be a part of. I left my job at Chrysler to pursue my teaching certificate and completed my student teaching at Henry Ford II High School in Sterling Heights, Michigan where I taught 9th grade English. After student teaching, I spent 4 years teaching English 10 & 11 at Dakota High School in Chippewa Valley Schools. This is my first year as a Lake Orion Dragon, and I'm teaching English 9 & 11. I've been married to my husband, Jeff, for 4 years, and we have a 2-year old daughter named Emily.
In my spare time, I love hanging out with my family and friends, going up north, boating, reading!!!, cooking, and traveling.
I hope to inspire the love of learning, reading, and writing in my students.
